Here's your guide to registering products in Louisiana.
Which product types to register
In Louisiana, you'll need to register:
- Malt/Beer
- Spirits
- Wine
- Low-ABV products
You won't need to include additional product information, as registrations are done at the COLA level in Louisiana.
How to register your products
- If you have a new brand that requires a COLA, register it as a New Brand.
- If you have a new COLA under an existing brand, register it as a Line Extension.
- You only need to register Line Extensions in Louisiana if a new COLA is required.
- If you have a variety pack or combo, you don't need to register it separately.

License information
License numbers in Louisiana are typically 10 digits. They may start with "OS." and end with "-H". Omit these letters when entering the license number in PRO. Enter only your license number with no punctuation or spaces. For example, a license that is formatted "OS.6700001234-H" should be entered as "6700001234".
Licenses may also have more than ten numerical digits. In this case, remove zeros until only ten digits remain. For example, a license that is formatted "OS.680000001234-H" should be entered as "6800001234".
If you can't find your license information, read about where to look for it.
Distributor information
Distributor assignments are not handled within PRO as part of label registration in Louisiana.
Required documents
Louisiana does not require additional documents to be submitted as part of the label registration process. However, distributor appointment and brand designation documentation must be on file with the state prior to distribution.
Renewals
Louisiana requires annual registration renewals. If you submit a label within a given calendar year, you'll need to submit a renewal application by December 31st of that year.
More information
If you had previously registered labels in Louisiana with the Department of Health and Hospitals, you'll need to re-submit them to the Louisiana ATC. You can generate a list of their previously registered labels on the LA active brands site.
