Here's your guide to registering products in Illinois.
Which product types to register
In Illinois, you'll need to register:
- Malt/Beer
- Spirits
- Wine
You'll need to include the following information for each product you register:
- Vintage (for wine)
- Bottle size
- ABV
- Bottles per case
How to register your products
- If you have a new brand, register it as a New Brand.
- If you have a new COLA under an existing brand, register it as a Line Extension.
- If you make changes to a product or label, including changing distributors, register your product as a Revision.
- New bottle sizes and new vintages (for wine) are considered revisions in Illinois.
- All products must already be registered with the state.
- If you're canceling an existing distributor relationship, you must file a Withdrawal of Registration Statement, available here.
- Multiple distributors can be assigned the same brands in the same territories in Illinois, so you don't need to cancel an existing distributor relationship before creating new ones. Be aware of any contractual obligations with your distributors, who might require this.
- If you have a variety pack or combo, you don't need to register it separately.

More information
Illinois manages registrations through PRO as well as their own state system. Because there are multiple systems in use, registrations listed on the Illinois active brands site may not reflect all active registrations in the state.
Illinois prefers that you register online, but accepts paper registrations. Read more on the ILCC site.
