Here's your guide to registering products in South Carolina.
Which product types to register
- Wine
- Beer/Malt
- Spirits (not currently handled in PRO)
You'll need to include the following information for each product you register:
- Brand name
- Label name
- ABV
- Size
- Country of origin, if imported
How to register your products
- If you have a new brand, register it as a New Brand.
- If you have a new COLA under an existing brand, register it as a Line Extension.
- If you make changes to a product or label, register your product as a Revision.
- For wine, revisions are only required for changes in bottle size, ABV, graphics, vintage, or appellation.
- For beer, revisions are only required for changes in bottle size, ABV, or graphics. Additional container sizes do not need to be registered.
- If you have a variety pack or combo, you'll need to register it on paper instead of through PRO.

All fees are subject to an additional $5 technology charge.

Some registrations are approved upon submission, while others require review. If you haven't received approval or a request for supporting information within 3 days, leave a comment for the state administrator on your registration, or reach out to the state.
License information
All South Carolina license numbers are nine digits and begin with 320. If you have a suffix on your license number (indicating license type), exclude this when entering your license number in PRO.
Distributor information
Distributor assignments are required as part of label registration in South Carolina. Malt registrations must also include distributor territory assignments, and partial territories are accepted.

Renewals
Renewals are not required in South Carolina.

In South Carolina, you may not register beer with an ABV greater than 14%, or wine with an ABV greater than 21%.
