Petra:
Hi, I'm Petra and this is Hannah from ShipCompliant University. We're going to talk to you today about solicitor management in ShipCompliant. Many states require your salespeople, brokers, or representatives to be licensed to operate in their state.

Hannah:
We'll tell you what the requirements are and help you stay on top of these licenses on behalf of your sales team.

Petra:
Probably the coolest thing is that you can remind your salespeople to renew their licenses simply by adding their email address to their license in ShipCompliant.

Hannah:
One less thing to worry about.

Petra:
Check it out.

Carolyn:
ShipCompliant has a solicitor management feature in order to help you better manage your compliance in each state. By setting up your solicitors, ShipCompliant can help you keep track of your salespeople in each of the states where you do business and the current status of their licenses. My name is Carolyn, and in the next three minutes, I will walk you through how to manage your solicitors in ShipCompliant.

Carolyn:
To begin, navigate to the Registrations tab and scroll down to solicitors. On this page, you will see a list of the states you have indicated you do business in and have an active wholesaler. Each of these states has different requirements for solicitors. Some require you to take action in order to ensure that you are compliant in that state. Verify where you need to take action by looking for green check marks, orange caution signs, and red stop signs under the license requirement column. Just like in your wizard, green check mark indicates no action is required and that you are fully set up. The orange caution sign means further action is still required in order for you to be compliant. And the red stop sign means the solicitor setup has not yet been started and action is required. Each state has blue text next to it describing the role of the solicitor in that state. Massachusetts, for example, requires registration for all brokers and all salespersons. On the other hand, Colorado does not have any solicitor registration requirements.

Carolyn:
Add a solicitor for the states that still require action by clicking on the blue Add Solicitor button. Fill in the listed fields and indicate which state the solicitor works in. Additionally, you have the option of uploading a photograph of your solicitor at the bottom of the page. On the next tab, Working Regions, select the regions that the solicitor is associated with. Once these actions are completed, click the green Save button.

Carolyn:
The next step is to navigate to the state you just created a solicitor for and add the license for that solicitor. Click the Add License button and make sure the state is accurate, the license type is accurate, and the person is accurate. These fields should be auto-filled however. Then indicate a license number, effective date range, and license status. Once these fields are complete, click the Save And Upload Documents button. From here, you can upload a copy of the license you just added. When finished, simply click Save. Continue these actions for each of the states that require you to list your solicitor licenses and then all of your solicitors will be fully set up.

Hannah:
Thanks for watching.

Petra:
Hope you enjoyed nerding out with ShipCompliant University.

Hannah:
Oh, yeah.
