ShipCompliant’s automatic age verification providers can’t always match your customer’s info to an of-age person in their database. You can manually override an unsuccessful age verification if this is the case. Deciding to override will not result in a vendor charge.
Read the following to learn how to override a failed-result age verification by searching either for a name or a location.
- In ShipCompliant, go to Tools, then select Age Verification.
- Click the Age Check Override tab.
- Enter the customer’s name or address, or choose a state or location to search.
- Click Search Customers.
- Select the checkbox next to the person(s) whose age you’d like to verify manually.
- If there is an orange exclamation mark under the Is Of Age column, the age of that specific customer is not verified.
- If there is a green check mark under the Is Of Age column, the customer's age is already verified.
- Click Verify Selected Customers.
- To make sure that you have an age verification record on file, you’ll be prompted to enter the following information:
- The method of verification used to validate the customer’s age
- The date of verification
- Who performed the verification
- Click Update.
- Once you’ve successfully verified the age of the selected customers, you’ll see a success message at the top of the page.
